Description
Feathered in varying shades of red, dark almost rusty chocolate on the back and wings. Front feathers appear scalloped, having buff edges and giving it a less sleek appearance then most Lories. Grey-black peri-orbital skin and ruff-like neck feathers. Almost like a Duivenbode’s Lory with a beard like group of darker feathers around the beak. Which is orange near the base. Iris Dark, legs grey, tail fanned in flight.
